Welcome to the 3rd issue of AI Agents Simplified! 🎉
📰 What Happened in the Last Week?
Last week, Microsoft turned 50. (I know you don’t care), but they had an anniversary event at their headquarters and talked a lot. But we’re here just for the fun part, AI.
Microsoft is making updates to Copilot that’ll let the AI assistant handle online tasks for you. With just “simple chat prompts,” these new Actions run in the background while you focus on other stuff. According to Microsoft, Copilot will be able to do things like:
Book restaurant reservations
Grab event tickets
Order stuff and ship it to your friends
Launch partners include Booking.com, Expedia, Kayak, Tripadvisor, Skyscanner, Viator, Vrbo, and Priceline, basically all the big names in travel. Copilot can now help you plan your next trip, order dinner through OpenTable, or even send flowers with 1-800-Flowers.com.
Microsoft says Copilot’s Actions will “work with most websites across the web,” and it can even “sort out the ride home” after your events. So yeah, it’s likely integrated with ride-sharing services too.
Microsoft is also bringing Copilot Vision to Windows and mobile, not just the web anymore.
This feature used to be limited to Microsoft Edge, where it helped guide you through webpage content. Now? It can analyze real-time video from your phone camera. That means Copilot can now:
Give you tips on keeping your plants alive
Suggest home decor ideas by looking at your space
They’re also introducing Deep Research, this lets Copilot dig through huge numbers of documents or web sources for complex projects.
This feature is being integrated with Bing, so you’ll start seeing more AI-powered responses directly inside search results.
It can even turn that research into a podcast-style audio explanation (because reading is exhausting sometimes), and there’s a new Pages tool too, which organizes all your notes and research into one clean canvas.
